Learning a new language builds up an area in the brain which is responsible for speech and sensory perception. (too scientific- ain’t I right? wink). Bilingual people, who speak two or more languages fluently, are better at maintaining lists, names and directions. They are meticulous and materialistic in every day life. They are also more creative and can concentrate longer with respect to any tasks given unlike most of them.
Humans communicate to express ideas and emotions, to connect with people and to share their thoughts respectively. Language emerged from a natural human thought to imitate the sounds of animals. Human language was developed from gestures used to have simple day-to-day conversation. Evidence prove that sign language and oral communication have similar neural system.
Communication is one of the basic necessities to survive in this human world. In the stone age, humans communicated with sounds & signs, expressed their emotions through art & crafts. As the human species evolved, they developed a way to communicate. Humans possess the skill to talk and it was given the name as language. The use of language majorly helped to convey information, share ideas, and express emotions to others. Language is the medium of lesson for teaching everyone and anyone. Without it……… learning would be impossible. It helps us to establish trust and build relationships. Language is necessary for personal growth, expression of thoughts and feelings, leading to self-awareness and personal growth.
You all must be familiar with foreign languages spoken in different countries. Linguists are the experts who study all types of languages and love to be familiar with the native spells. Some people propose to have conversation in the same language, for comfort and respect to their roots. People living in certain region would develop common set of words for the thoughts they would likely want to express. While people in other areas of the world, with different needs, would develop similar understandable regional words. In this manner, different languages grew up on humans with their adorable presence and was nurtured at their own individual capacity across the world. Some languages are similar because they might come from the same root language. Papua New Guinea (pa-pu-a new gin-ea) a country with over 800 spoken languages, is the world’s most multilingual language used country.
There are numerous tribes in India. Indian tribal languages can be defined as “folk” languages, spoken by people of cultural groups who prefer to live in isolated terrains. To highlight a few tribal languages in India are Garo, Tsangla, Saurashtri etc. Interesting and proven to have more than (780 tribal languages) in the tribal culture alone. Communication is not restricted to only humans, but even animals have their own language to communicate with their own breeds. Sometimes some humans are called as “Animal whisperers” for their emotional whispering with pets, and other strays as they know what they are doing with years of training. Whilst, some are born with the talent to communicate and connect very well with the wild. To be more precise- “animals often use bodily movements, rubbing their paws, howling, growling, and like how dogs waggle their tail when they want to play, or some vocal signatures to communicate. I am sure you all agree that, humans are one of the wildest communicators with their pets as eventually they grow up together.
As I was researching to understand the beauty and audacity of language, my inner voice urged me to check on my mother tongue’s birth. The Dravidian languages were spoken by more than 200 million people in the Southern Indian terrain; Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu have centuries of artistic traditions with a rendition to the roots. These Dravidian languages were first testified in the second century BCE, as inscriptions in Tamil-Brahmin scripts in the cave walls of Madurai, and in the districts of Tirunelveli Tamilnadu there are still many unexplainable facts of the literature.
The ancient Tamil Literature, from the first to the fourth century CE, known as Sangam literature, provides invaluable insights to the early stages of Tamilians. The Sangam writings are commandingly unique in the Indian literature. The poetry written in huge numbers, the transcripts of the Sangam era is mostly about two main topics: love (Agham) and heroism (Puram).
The volumes of Language are beyond just the blog I have furnished above. It is the artistic linguistic culmination that creates conversation engaging and enchanting,
Wait for the next about language and its beauty to make the best use of it.
